Traction and Flexibility in Baseball Turf Shoes

Baseball turf shoes, also called cleats or studs, are specifically designed to wear specifically on the baseball diamond, delivering you the necessary support so you can remain your best no matter what position you play at. Turf shoes are especially good for usage on synthetic turfs, whether playing or training. As well as helping you stay safe on the playing field, they help you play with a sense of confidence as well.

The main characteristic of a good baseball turf shoe is the sole. There are two types of sole construction on this type of footwear; the first is a mesh upper, which helps to absorb shock and act as an insulator, whilst providing excellent cushioning for a perfect grip on the turf. The second type of sole construction is a rubber sole, which has a hardier nature allowing the player to have more grip and less chance of slipping and sliding throughout the game.

Another characteristic of baseball turf shoes that sets them apart from cleats is the presence of a rubber outsole. The rubber outsole acts as a soft, cushioning sponge on the sole and helps to absorb shock and transfer the energy to the ball. However, it does have one major drawback; the rubber outsole does not provide much traction. In effect, the rubber outsole may work to a certain degree, but the lack of traction makes it difficult to move the ball around. For this reason, baseball turf shoes will often come with a combination of an elastic midsole as well as a rubber outsole.
